Swallow Falls, Deep Creek Lake State Park, Herrington Manor, and New Germany State Parks are all close by and are great for appreciating the beautiful scenery and enjoying a day with the family.

You can't travel to western Maryland without hearing about the great whitewater rafting adventures along the Youghiogheny River corridor. There are several outfitters in the area who offer different types of expeditions from beginner to experienced. An adrenaline rush for sure!

RUSTIC AND ARTISTIC
If you'd like to venture out a bit further, Spruce Forest Artisan's Village in Grantsville, MD is a historic location that features artisans who work with iron, wood, stained glass, and pottery. Gift shops in addition to a cafe and the Penn Alps restaurant are onsite. The Casselman River bridge is located just down the road and the Stanton Mill, which grinds fresh flour and grain for purchase, is also nearby.

If you're looking for the best pizza in the area, then look no further. Brenda's Pizzeria offers New York style pizza at its best. Their menu also includes appetizers, salads, sandwiches, entrees' and desserts. They are located on Garrett Hwy in Oakland, MD.

Moonshadow is a local eatery located close by in McHenry, that offers American cuisine with vegan, vegetarian, and gluten-free dishes including appetizers, salads, and entrees. They also have live music every weekend. Rated by TripAdvisor as one of the 10 best places to eat at in Garrett County Maryland.
